However, this Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that we do not own or control, or to people whom we do not employ or manage.  Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these third-party sites. What kind of information does The Bella Network collect?

We collect voluntarily submitted information, such as name, e-mail and postal addresses, phone number(s), birth date or age, gender, occupation, industry and personal interests from you when you visit and knowingly provide information on our website, register for and/or attend an event, save your information with us online, visit the website of our marketing partners or participate in a contest, promotion or survey. We maintain a record of your interests and the services and features you use, and may also acquire information about you from our marketing partners, from unrelated third parties, and from our affiliates.

In addition, we may also collect personal information from individuals (with their consent) at conferences, retreats, events, trade shows, expositions, seminars or other programs. In the event you order something from our website or participate in a promotion or contest, a third party that we engage may collect additional personal information, such as your credit card information in order to complete and process the purchase or entry.  (Refer to question “Does the Bella Network share my information with third parties?” for details.)

You always have the option not to provide the information we request.  If you choose not to provide the information we request, you can still visit our website anonymously, but you may be unable to access certain options and services. When you register on or provide information on the website in any manner, you agree to provide only true, accurate, current and complete information.

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways to improve our customer service and your overall user experience:

  • To better address your individual needs and preferences
  • To process transactions, such as for an event, conference, retreat, workshop or merchandise purchase and send you information and updates pertaining to your registration or order
  • To administer a contest, promotion, giveaway, survey, evaluation or other site feature
  • To send periodic emails/newsletters, postal mail or cell phone text messages in regards to our events, products, contests, promotions and other services, and or those of our affiliates’
  • To respond to information or materials requested by you
  • To apply towards data & statistics as part of a sponsorship or media package

You always have the choice to unsubscribe from our email distribution, phone calls or text messaging services.

Does The Bella Network share my information with third parties?

The Bella Network never shares, sells, exchanges, transfers or gives your information, whether public or private to any other company, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested.  When third parties, business partners and vendors sites provide hosting and other services for us or are linked to our website they have their own privacy policy statements which can be viewed on those sites.

When we offer products, services, events, contests and promotions, with or without a marketing partner, you may be required to provide certain personal information in order to participate. You are given the choice not to receive e-mail messages or other communication from us regarding our services, contests, and promotions. In this case, however, The Bella Network may still need to contact you, for example, to notify winners and to fulfill promotional obligations or deliver the purchased product or service requested.  If you do not want to be contacted then you are advised to not participant in these types of transactions.

What if The Bella Network is sold?

If some or all of our business is sold, The Bella Network will disclose your personal information to a purchaser that agrees to abide by the terms and conditions of our Privacy Policy.

What if we are required by law to disclose information?

The Bella Network reserves the right to disclose information about you as required by law, in response to legal process and law enforcement requests, and as necessary to investigate or prevent illegal activities or protect the property, interests and rights of The Bella Network, its affiliates, and others.

Because we value your privacy we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. As part of this act all users of our site may make any changes to their information at any time by logging into their control panel and going to the “edit profile” page. How does The Bella Network protect kids’ privacy?

The Bella Network is concerned about the safety of children when they use the Internet. We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act), and will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13.  Our website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 18 years old or older.  By using our website and registering for our services or making a purchase, you are certifying that you are at least 18 years old.

What are Cookies?

The Bella Network website places a cookie on the hard drive of your computer.  A “cookie” is a small data file that is written to your computer’s hard drive by your web browser which allows us to track and target the interests of users. A cookie file can contain information, such as a user identification code that a website will use to track the pages and number of times you have visited.

How does The Bella Network use Cookies & Pixel Tags on our site?

The Bella Network may use cookies to track web analytics throughout the website and membership status so that you don’t have to login each time you visit the website. The data read from these cookies may be linked to personally identifiable (PII) and non-personally identifiable (non-PII) information. We also use cookies to identify whether you visited one of our affiliates’ websites immediately prior to visiting our website.

Our business partners and vendors providing hosting and other services for the website and third-party analytics providers may set their own unique cookies through your browser.

How do we use Cookies for Advertising and Analytics?

The Bella Network website places a cookie on the hard drive of your computer. A “cookie” is a file which allows us to track and target the interests of users. In addition, our website uses third party cookies from Google Analytics for Display Advertisers, including the following features:

  • Google Display Network Impression Reporting – which gives us additional insight into who has viewed our paid digital advertising on other websites. This will help us optimize and tailor our advertising.
  • DoubleClick Platform integrations & Remarketing with Google Analytics – the integrations between both our web analytics and paid advertising platforms together to give us additional insight. This allows us to tailor our advertising to ensure the right types and offers are shown to you while you are using the internet outside our website.
  • Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting – which gives us insight into behavior information relating to visitor age, gender and interests on an anonymous and aggregate level. This will help us to understand browsing behavior to give you a better experience whilst visiting our sites.

Cookies are used to analyze your use of our website and to serve ads when you visit our website. The information we collect and share with third parties through cookies is aggregated and therefore anonymous (it does not include personal information which is likely to identify you). What do we do with Non-Personally Identifiable Information (non-PII)?

We may contract with third-party service providers to assist us in better understanding our site visitors.  These service providers are not permitted to use the information collected on our behalf except to help us conduct and improve our business.

We may analyze, use, disclose and otherwise process statistical and other aggregated benchmark data in non-personally identifiable form that we obtain or generates in connection with our business.  This data is used for marketing, tracking and related business purposes. It is used to identify trends and other activities aligned with our mission.

Is my information secure?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information.  We do not accept or receive personal financial information on our website.  All supplied sensitive or credit information is transmitted via Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology or another encryption technology to protect your online order information as it is transmitted over the Internet. Your private financial information is not stored on our servers.

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services.  We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

What about Confidentiality?

We limit access to personal information about you to staff who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide services to you or in order to do their jobs.

We take all reasonable precautions to keep your personal information secure and we have put in place physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to protect personal information about you.

What about links to other third party websites and services?

The Bella Network website may contain links to other third party sites products and services, including, but not limited to our marketing partners and sponsors. The Bella Network does not control the privacy policies or practices of these separate and independent websites. You should review those policies before providing any personal information. The Bella Network is not responsible for the content or practices of any linked websites, and we provide these links solely for the convenience and information of our visitors. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these third party sites.

Does The Bella Network receive my hotel room block information?

By registering for one of our events you have authorized us to have access to information pertaining to hotel guest reservation for each registered “Attendee” under reserved rooms at the “Hotel” or venue as part of The Bella Network’s room block disclosure of reservations. This provides us access to the necessary planning information to perform and provide event-related services for our conferences and retreats in preparation for your arrival.

Am I able to post in your membership area?

Users of The Bella Network site’s membership area agree not to post any material which is knowingly false and / or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of any individual’s privacy or otherwise in violation of any law.

As a user of our membership posting areas: (a) you automatically grant to The Bella Network, LLC (or warrant that the owner thereof has granted to The Bella Network, LLC) a nonexclusive, royalty-free license to use, modify, copy, distribute, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform, publish, adapt, create derivative works of, transfer or sell any content, for any purpose whatsoever, including, without limitation, a commercial purpose, without any compensation to you; and (b) you agree that you will not publish, submit, or display such content on any professional networking-related website or online service without the prior written consent of The Bella Network.  The Bella Network may withhold consent at its discretion.
